Stan Jones



Stan Jones is Senior Lecturer in Screen and Media Studies at the University of Waikato.  

He has special interests in teaching and researching German/European cinema (particularly the work of directors Wim Wenders and Marcel Ophüls) and the reception of New Zealand filmmaking in Germany. He is the author of Projecting a Nation: New Zealand Film and Its Reception in Germany (1999). He has also contributed to the journals Illusions and Metro and to the collections European Identity in Cinema (1996), Screening the Past: Film and the Representation of History (1998), Twin Peeks: Australian and New Zealand Feature Films (1999), Fifty Contemporary Filmmakers (2002), and New Zealand Filmmakers (2007).
